West Library The City of Irving's West Library is now open. It occupies a 6.5 acre spot at the SW corner of Esters and Rochelle, behind the Kasbah Grill and Fire Station. The building is 25,000 sq ft (that's 3 times the size of the current NW library which it replaces) and is a "green" building with geothermal HVAC, photovoltaic sculptures, and a water catch basin. The total cost of the project was $8 million.
